Giving Tuesday
Reminder that November 28th is Giving Tuesday!! We hope you, as animal lovers, see the value in our organization Friends of the Animal Community. We are constantly rescuing and saving dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from abuse or euthanasia.
Your donations go directly to these types of needs:
**Animal Birth Control for Tuolumne County
**Special Vet Care
**Heartworm help - very prevalent in our community
**Foster Care Support
To ease the burden of full shelters, we cover boarding costs, food, training and enrichment activities to get them to adoptable pets. We pull pets from our animal shelter and from the surrounding areas including Mariposa, Oakdale, Modesto, Stockton and more.
Off the euthanasia list to loving adopted homes.
In 2023, we adopted out more than 800 animals and helped another 200 with medical needs and spay and neuters. We assist seniors in our community with adopting companions to aid in their quality of life. We have senior dogs and cats that are in “hospice” settings, that we financially sponsor and give dignity and quality of life to until they go to the rainbows bridge.
We also run an outstanding program at our local prison, Sierra Conservation Center, matching up inmates & dogs.
The inmates (trainers) teach the dogs a basic Canine Good Citizen program until they are adopted! The volunteers at FOAC are some of the most committed amazing people that you could meet… united with a common goal of helping these poor animals that can’t help themselves.
